Abstract

'Bill' Wannan, AM, Australia's longest collecting pioneer folklorist whose work and publishing spanned more than 50 years has died peacefully at Cabrini, Prahan last month. Bill Wannan wrote some 55 books focusing on the nation's literature and legends and celebrating the wry and distinctive and humour of its people.
