Who is Frank Archibald? [Video recording]

The great Helen Keller was once asked: "What could be worse than being born blind?" To which she replied: "To be born with sight but without vision." This quote was spoken by Carol Vale, when she introduced the 2003 Archibald Lecture in honour of her great, grandfather Frank Archibald. Frank was a fighter for Aboriginal survival and self-determination. He came back to Armidale in the latter half of his life. This is his story. We pay homage to the traditional and historic owners of the land. We also remember Florence le Gay Brereton who arrived in Armidale in the 1950's and was a great advocate for human rights.
