Abstract

These days in some circles the talk is all about "oppressions", with claims even of multiple overlapping and intersecting oppressions. Is this a reasonable way to describe the malaise of working people in modern society? Or can the currently unfashionable Marxist notions of "exploitation" and "alienation" add something? The following is an attempt to clarify the relationship between exploitation, oppression and alienation and to suggest a formula for radical demands and radical action.
