Abstract

'Haemonchus contortus' and 'Trichostrongylus colubriformis' are important gastrointestinal nematode parasites of sheep in summer rainfall areas. Their developmental success is controlled by temperature and moisture. A climate chamber experiment was conducted to determine the effect of water application at various times relative to faecal deposition on the development of 'H. contortus' and 'T. colubriformis' to infective larvae (L3).
