Walking to Different Beats: Good Practice and Innovation in Higher Education

This publication is an outcome of the Teaching and Learning Symposium, 'Walking to Different Beats', which was held at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in October 2002. The aim of the Symposium was to highlight and share best practice and innovation in teaching and learning across the University. The contributors in this book come from experienced educators who deal with a range of issues in their courses, in their classrooms, or in higher education generally. These educators have thoughtfully analysed their own practice, and have discussed various ways that they address the ongoing quality of their students' learning experiences. This critical reflection on practice and the focus on strategies for enhancing student learning are the themes that provide the unifying bases of this publication.
