Abstract

Since the 1946 publication of John Hersey's Hiroshima in the New Yorker, the narration of the events of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki has spawned a literature which has marked the bombings as a rupture in culture or a hole in human history (Zwigenberg 2014: 17; Hersey 1946).
