Abstract
These notes outline three activities for different areas of biology, which can prove to be conceptually difficult. The first two are intended to act as 'hooks' to arouse student interest, while the final activity can be used as a class practical or demonstration. Each of the activities is easy to organise, and any resources required are available in most school science laboratories.
