Third Night: Into the Other World

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The story I am about to tell you didn't happen long ago and far away, like Thomas' journey; but right close, in time and space. Yet it is, too, a journey, a journey by night like that which Thomas the Rhymer took. A journey to that place we might call Elfland, the faery kingdom, the numinous realm, the archetypal place, the Otherworld: in that world which is always shimmering beyond the mundane, beyond the world of appearances, and which sometimes breaks through, when we least expect it.
