Abstract
By the end of this chapter you will be able to:
. explain what an electronic transaction is;
. explain the main features of the Electronic Transaction Act 1999 (Cth);
. explain what security measures are available to protect users of electronic commerce;
. describe electronic commerce products and services that have been developed for electronic commercial transactions;
. explain who has jurisdiction over an electronic transaction;
. explain the right to privacy over an electronic transaction; and
. discuss how the authorities have attempted to deal with computer crime.
