The Influence of Karl Barth on the Theology of Geoffrey Bromiley

Evangelicalism in North America can be described as a diverse theological movement comprised of institutions, networks, magazines, journals, luminaries, and parachurch organizations. According to Clark Pinnock a theologian can be described as Evangelical if he or she networks within the evangelical movement. Contemporary Evangelicalism in North America had its beginning at the tum of the twentieth-century. It emerged as a fundamentalist movement to defend orthodox Protestant Christianity against the perceived threat of Modernism. We define Modernism as the prevailing "spirit" of the modernist era that came into being in the West with the birth of the Age of Reason, or Enlightenment.
