Abstract
Covid 19 changed how teaching and learning are carried out at all levels of education. This paper presents an evidence-based review of the literature on engaging online students and outlines some strategies teachers could use to create better students engagement in online space. Three major strategies are explored in this paper: Building social presence, providing effective feedback by the teacher and peers and communication. This review is set up in higher education settings; however, most of the strategies outlined in the paper could be adapted for senior secondary and secondary levels.
