Abstract

Rationale for Study: • Deficit of research on child survivors of parental suicide, especially those bereaved at a young age. • The voices of adults who were parentally bereaved as children have not been heard in a qualitative study. • Hearing narratives of child survivors may assist in the development of appropriate support programs and better inform counselling practice. Aims of the Study - To explore: • Retrospective experiences of parental suicide. • Developmental history after suicide, especially identity and ego development and growth of meaning systems. • Nature of support experienced. • Development of resilience in the face of loss and disappointment.
