Abstract
Many students have been confused by the fact that different styles of documentation have been demanded by different departments and sometimes even by different lecturers in the same department. Of course each discipline may have special referencing requirements in its more advanced reaches, but many departments have been able to agree on the following 'Style Booklet'. These notes contain the details of the application of two widely used systems -the footnoting system and the Harvard system.
