    Abstract

This chapter provides student insights and perspectives on the validation of learning outcomes that have been derived from a secondary data analysis of a national study conducted by the authors in 2008 into the recognition of prior learning in Australia. It includes actual comments made by the students about the outcomes of their learning and the processes for validating those outcomes. The evidence presented in this chapter suggests that collecting, analysing and acting upon the insights and perspectives of adult learners is a critically important but chronically undervalued process for vocational education and training systems.
