Sentient

Sentient explores explores the notion of a machine becoming sentient. One of the enduring goals of AI is to create a machine that is sentient and has the capacity to experience feelings and sensations. A sentient machine is one that is self-aware and can feel, understand, and express emotion in a human like way. The work takes the perspective of the machine and questions the ethics of creating a sentient machine whose primary function is to serve us. The performance uses the alternate controller known as the eMic (Extended Mic Stand Interface Controller).
