Abstract
As a result of reading this chapter you will have the knowledge to be able to: explain what is meant by non-probability sampling; identify some of the key principles associated with sampling in qualitative research; describe some of the different sampling options available in qualitative research; develop an understanding of theoretical sampling and how to use it; understand why qualitative studies rely on small sample sizes; identify issues associated with recruiting, accessing and maintaining relationships with informants.
