This book, one launched with much media attention in September at the Brisbane Writers' Festival, is a timely reminder that certain governments have been less then transparently fair in the way in which they have held in trust the money belonging to Indigenous people. In the book Ros Kidd uses official correspondence to reveal the remarkable degree of control that government has exercised over Aboriginal wages, savings, endowments and pensions in Queensland over the last century.
