Abstract
This paper analyses the definition of 'Physical Education' provided by electronic encyclopaedia Wikipedia in Spanish version. This encyclopaedia, which functions through wiki technology, is composed by collaborations which can be modified by anyone who has access to Internet. Even though Wikipedia is not an academic resource, it is one of the most frequent web sites for consultation among people. Results demonstrate that Wikipedia still suggests that research within Physical Education is conducted using methods and concepts from biological sciences. In so doing, knowledge is fragmented and isolated from real application settings.
