Reaching EFA through multi-grade teaching: issues, contexts and practices

Multi-grade classes are common throughout the world, in both developed and developing countries. Such classes consist of more than one grade being taught simultaneously by the same teacher. Multi-grade classes vary in many ways, as discussed in this timely book.Teaching strategies, research and professional development projects are described.Broader issues such as equity and diversity are considered - issues such as language of instruction, access to schooling (gender parity, refugee and nomadic contexts, provision of teachers and buildings), and support (from policy provision of suitable curriculum materials, and teacher education).
