Abstract

The global nursing shortage has resulted in many countries focusing on international recruitment to address their domestic nursing shortages (Pressley et al., Citation2023). One in eight nurses practices in a country different from where they gained their initial nursing qualification (World Health Organization, Citation2024). These nurses, commonly known as migrant nurses, travel from their source countries to host countries for economic and career opportunities, lifestyle improvement, overall safety and security, family unification, and personal growth (Konlan et al., Citation2023; Villamin et al., Citation2025a). While migrant nurses relocate to improve their standing, migration is not always straightforward.
