Abstract
This short paper provides a detailed linguistic and ethnographic analysis of data presented in the more descriptive and historical approach offered in Nash (forthcoming). It presents a linguistic investigation of a list of Melanesian Mission placename data and works towards a broader theory about the ethnography of Melanesian Mission naming and Norfolk Island place-naming in general.
