How Do We See Ourselves? Measuring Perceptions of Teaching Style using the Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (QTI) Instrument

Over the last three or four decades, there has been considerable research into a variety of aspects of the classroom environment. A number of instruments have now been developed to cover a wide variety of learning environments from the elementary school through to the tertiary level. These have been designed to examine amongst other things, constructivist classrooms, laboratory classes and interpersonal behaviour or teaching style (Fraser 1991, 1994, 1995, 1998). As a result of this research, there is now a variety of well-tested and validated survey instruments available to teachers and researchers.
