    Abstract

The name 'Whalleya' K.E. Wills & J.J. Bruhl was published for an Australian grass genus (Wills et al. 2000). However, it is illegitimate as it is a later homonym of the fungal genus 'Whalleya' J.D. Rogers, Y.M. Ju & San Martin (Rogers et al. 1997). We now provide a legitimate name for that grass genus, new combinations for the three species of the genus, and lectotypify two basionyms.
