Geometric and Topological Methods for Quantum Field Theory, edited by Alexander Cardona, Iván Contreras and Andrés F. Reyes-Lega

Abstract

The string theory research community is now an incredibly diverse and wide-ranging field. Techniques developed by string theorists are being applied in topics spanning the breadth of condensed matter physics, particle phenomenology as well as mathematics. Training graduate students and early career researchers in this context is increasingly difficult, and often requires specialist training and knowledge of topics beyond the reach of undergraduate or graduate courses taught during at a typical semester. For this reason, summer schools are increasingly important, allowing experienced researchers to give extended pedagogical lectures on state of the art techniques and research topics.
