Abstract
Aim: to explore the process of giving mouth care in hospital to a child with cancer. In an initial study, it was established that the state of mouths of children with cancer was unsatisfactory, despite their being given mouth care. It was also noted that only a minority of mouth care was being carried out by nurses, the majority being carried out by the family. A study was carried out to investigate the process of giving mouth care to children with sore mouths.
