Abstract

When the Physical Education teacher proposes 'games' in the classes, what is really proposing? Children involve themselves in different ways while playing. There is a significant difference in how students play in games proposed by themselves than in those ones proposed (or usually imposed) by the Physical Education teacher. This book explores how children bodily involve in play, often without verbal communication. This study would be significant for professionals within the field of Physical Education. It would give the possibility to re-think practices and interventions, given that when teachers propose activities named as 'games', they contribute to the ambiguity of the concept and confuse children.
