Abstract

High dietary protein has been associated with high water consumption in poultry, having a negative impact on litter quality and bird health. Glycine is categorized as a non-essential amino acid, due to its involvement in protein and purine synthesis it may become limiting in low protein diets. The aim* of this study was to measure the effect of glycine supplementation in low protein diets on water consumption in broilers.
