Abstract

Background: The incidence and severity of leg problems in broiler chickens are of great concern, both from product quality and animal welfare points of view. The increased exclusion of animal protein from diets will aggravate this problem. The formulation of all-vegetable diets is also rather difficult. Objective: To assess the incidence and severity of leg problems of broilers fed on all-vegetable diets.
