Early Psychosis Project: Final Report

The early psychosis project for HNEH Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Northern commenced in September 2005, with the appointment of an early psychosis project officer in a temporary part time (0.8eft) contracted and time limited capacity until June 2008. This period reflected the short term funding allocated for this project. The project was conducted as a Northern Region initiative. No recurrent funding has been allocated to this project. The purpose of the position was to develop and implement early psychosis practice in the Northern Region such that young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis had access to early appropriate treatment and care. It was initially envisaged that this would be achieved by developing and supporting workforce skills in early psychosis practice and developing service capacity to address early psychosis.
