Abstract

Born as fourth son into the family of a highly distinguished professorof medicine on February 4th, 1906 in Breslau, Dietrich Bonhoefferreceived the educational formation of a Bildüngsburger the aristocratsof culture and learning; a phenomenon peculiar to the German upperbourgeoisie of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It was at a time when Germany was simultaneously both a respected and feared worldpower. I In his short life - he was executed by the Nazis for hightreason April, ninth, 1945 - Bonhoeffer accumulated a breathtaking list of accomplishments.
