Abstract
Saving lives at sea and maintaining border security are the common cries in support of offshore processing. But at what cost to the men, women and children sent out of sight to Manus Island in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Nauru? Although secrecy surrounds what happens offshore, claims of shocking abuses have emerged.
