Coastal Waters

Abstract

Waters within the jurisdiction of the stales and the NT which extend three nautical miles seaward. Coastal waters are part of Australia's territorial sea. This arrangement reflects the Offshore Constitutional Settlement of 1979 between the states and the Commonwealth.
