Causation, Science and Sir Owen Dixon

Dixon delivered an address to the Medico-Legal Society of Victoria in Melbourne in 1933 concerning the possible approaches the law should take to recognise its limitations when confronted with complicated scientific questions. Then in an address given to a general meeting of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Chemical Institute, he suggested ways in which the scientific expert might be prepared, personally and by counsel, for the task of giving scientific evidence in a court of law.
