Abstract

Health and Physical Education (HPE) is a profession with an 'embodied identity'. HPE is about bodies and health. Students may come to HPE classes with skillful bodies, uncoordinated bodies, skinny or fat bodies. Previous research has suggested that some HPE teachers may have strong fat phobia tendencies, therefore, it is relevant to explore how pre-service HPE teachers construct fatness.
