Abstract

This paper treats of four texts reflective of railway experiences - of workers and of travellers - on the inland railway system of Northern New South Wales, traversing a region of much scenic Grandeur. In sum, they offer a series of social and moral vignettes that define that work and travel across the 20th century, even as they capture so much otherwise now lost.
