Preparing and Leading Teachers for the Future

Project Details

Description

The Preparing and Leading Teachers for the Future project focuses on the crucial intersection of workforce preparation, digital futures, and the unique challenges faced by rural and remote areas and future education. The project is framed on the research question “What are the perceived attributes of quality teacher and digital skill development identified in the past and how can they inform future training programs?”

Accessing and analysing the archived Office for Professional Learning (OPL) Professional Experience documents will facilitate:

• Capturing specific preparation and skill development needs for pre-service teachers within remote and rural communities focusing on quality teaching for the future.
• Understanding the specific preparation and skill development needs is a crucial intersection of workforce preparation, teacher futures, and the unique digital challenges that might be encountered by rural and remote areas.
• Bridging the gap between academic learning and professional requirements, ensuring that pre-service teachers are workforce ready.
• Identification of opportunities despite challenges with implications for workforce preparation.

Archived qualitative data will be coded and analysed through thematic analyses, and quantitative ratings of pre-service teachers’ Professional Experience progress will be subsequently examined to provide a point of comparison to written feedback. Analysis of these archived data will contribute to a recognition of implications for PE placements in preparing a future workforce
for digital advancements in regional schools and beyond.
