Project Details

Description

Australia’s protected cropping industry has been spatially enabled thanks to the National Map of Protected Cropping Structures (PCS), which was first published in 2023. Under a new ‘Phase 2’ project, the University of New England’s Applied Agricultural Remote Sensing Centre (AARSC) are again working with Protected Cropping Australia (PCA) and NSW Local Land Services (LLS) to update the map and additionally develop a new ‘industry-only' map. The industry-only map will be secured for access by PCA and NSW LLS—including the North Coast and Greater Sydney LLS regions, to record additional information at greater detail (e.g. crop, technology, management, etc.), as a high-value data collection, analysis and presentation tool.
