LEAAP - Leadership for Ezidi and Aboriginal youth in Armidale Program

Project Details

Description

LEAAP is a 4 phase program aimed at providing the skills and tools to selected 14-16 year old Ezidi and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people from Armidale to positively contribute to their community. Young people from these cultural communities in particular have been identified due to emerging complexity in their relationships with one another among children, school-aged young people and adults in Armidale. Collectively, the LEAAP program seeks to utilise sport and leadership from the youth Ezidi and Aboriginal communities to create a vehicle to drive broader cross-cultural appreciation, community resilience and harmony in Armidale. ‘Prevention’ and ‘Response’ COMPACT Community Resilience strategic priorities are of particular focus in the LEAAP program.
