Project Details
Description
The specific objectives of this project were to assess the social, economic and individual impact of African Swine Fever (ASF) on smallholder pig production systems; and to gain in-depth understanding of the role of smallholder pig production in supporting rural livelihoods and contributing to food security. It is anticipated that this research will provide new knowledge and understandings of the impact of ASF outbreaks, which was made worse by the global pandemic of COVID-19, on smallholder pig producers in Cambodia. The results from this research will provide valuable data for improving agricultural development in this field of smallholder pig production with the aim of addressing and improving food security and enhancing rural agricultural livelihoods.
