Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan and advice on CCTV

Project Details

Description

This project will produce a Crime Prevention Plan and five-year Action Plan for Narrabri Shire Council and provide expert evidence-based evaluation of the merits of acquisition and deployment of back-to-base CCTV for Wee Waa.
Specifically, the project team will:

1. Review existing Council documentation, with particular attention to assessing the status of action items outlined in the existing Community Safety & Crime Prevention Action Plan (2019-2023)

2. Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to determine specific requirements and capabilities (internally) and to assess perceptions and attitudes of key stakeholders (externally)

3. Gauge community sentiment through a focus group and community attitudes survey, as well as an analysis of localised online community sentiment

4. Explore and report on extant literature internationally that assesses the use of back-to-base CCTV installation and monitoring

5. Produce an evidenced-based and public-facing Crime Prevention Plan and five-year Action Plan (2024-2028); along with relevant accompanying documentation (i.e. raw data) for internal Council use
