Simon’s managerial experience includes work with the Community Development Employment Project in Aurukun, he established and then managed Rockhampton’s headspace centre (a youth mental health centre), and he has carried out consultancy work for not-for-profit organisations. With regard to social policy he was a member of the Design Team for the Welfare Reform Project led by Noel Pearson at the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership (a division of Griffith University) in 2006 and 2007.
Simon has a wide range of research interests that include ethics, business ethics, leadership, reconciliation, civility, and policy evaluation. But a general theme that unites the main body of his work is one of ethical leadership.
