Biographical Details

Professor Rikki Jones is an ECR and Professor of Nursing at the University of New England (since 2017). Rikki graduated from the University of New England (UNE) in 2001 with a Bachelor of Nursing degree before completing her postgraduate year at Tamworth base hospital. Rikki has over 17 years of clinical nursing experience in emergency nursing, community health, rural and remote nursing, and theatre nursing. Her research focus is on rural health, improving rural health care services delivery and access including mental health (first responders, nursing staff and nursing students), violence (sexual, IPV/DV, family, and drug & alcohol related), and the impact of shame and stigma on health. Rikki is a supervisor of PhD, MPhil, and Honours students, and leader mentoring staff research and curriculum development and design.
