Biographical Details

My work as a medical doctor and my passion for understanding and improving human performance (both physiological and psychological aspects) in collaboration with national and international researchers can be translated to improve human functioning and quality of life.

I have considerable experience in the catecholamine-sympathetic system axes of stress (both from a clinical and academic perspective) and in the last year has published high profile publications on stress and performance, including one in high-performance sport. My work has considerable clinical impact and can make a difference for both high performing humans (elite athletes and defence force personnel) as well as improving life for the man on the street by developing ground breaking non-invasive technology measuring physiological analytes during day to day activities.

I am building a strong research trajectory with world-renowned national and international collaborators to improve human life in a rapidly changing world with increased pressures and stress.

Although my publications from 2017 onwards are across different areas e.g. Neuroscience, Human performance, and the Stress response, a common denominator is human functioning and the effects of stress on human performance. From this research we become aware of early non-invasive measurement and understanding of humans and how to improve human life.
