Biographical Details
From the classrooms of rural Australia to leading international research at the University of New England, Professor Penelope (Pep) Baker's career is defined by a commitment to educational equity and capacity building. Pep has successfully managed complex research and development projects across the Pacific, transforming pedagogical theory into culturally responsive practice. Pep's expertise spans the teacher education spectrum, from primary to postgraduate, with a specialised focus on enhancing numeracy, curriculum development in developing countries, education in remote contexts, and sustainable international partnerships. Pep is currently the Research Coordinator for the School of Education.
