Mia Rahim

Associate Professor Mia Rahim joined the School of Law in July 2019, having previously held positions at the University of South Australia, Macquarie University and the Queensland University of Technology. Before joining academia, Associate Professor Rahim was a Judge in Bangladesh. He also worked in the Bangladesh Law Commission and the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He has held visitorships at several prestigious institutions, including the Copenhagen Business School and the Indian Institute of Technology (Kharagpur). Associate Professor Mia Rahim is particularly interested in different forms of regulation and how they relate to legal structures that encourage social responsibility and accountability practice of regulatees. One of his recent books Legal Regulation of Corporate Social Responsibility has explained how a meta-regulation mode in laws can effectively raise social responsibility performance of corporations. He has undertaken a number of research projects, including the assessment of the nexus between corporate self-regulation, legal regulations and social accountability performances of global corporations, and critical analysis of different legal frameworks for developing global supply chain operations.
