Biographical Details
Associate Professor Gal Winter, a registered nutritionist (RNutr.), is the Discipline Convenor of Biomedical Science at the University of New England. A dynamic academic leader, her work translates complex microbial ecology into tangible public health outcomes through education. This passion for accessible, evidence-based science is the driving force behind her community outreach program, "Gal's Kitchen Culture", which teaches the art of fermentation and healthy eating. An award-winning educator and researcher, Gal is committed to developing innovative academic programs and mentoring the next generation of scientists. Her distinguished career, founded on her Food Science and Human Nutrition studies in Israel, has evolved to a focused expertise in microbiology, particularly the vital connection between the gut microbiome and the brain.
