Biographical Details

Cecilia White (she/sie/lei/elle) is an artist, poet, and lecturer, course coordinator, and supervisor in undergraduate and postgraduate Modern Languages (German) at the University of New England (UNE), Australia. Cecilia’s PhD* from the Faculty of Art and Design, University of NSW (2017) examined the intersection of anxiety, wonder, poetics and the endangered sense of self through site specific performance art and cross-cultural philosophies and applied interpretations of breathing. She also holds a Master of Education (Hons), Bachelor of Arts (German and English) and Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Arts (German Studies) (Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) (Hons) from UNE.*Performance Art and Irigarayan Renaissance: Anxiety, Wonder, and a Poetics of Breath.
