Biographical Details
Dr Alison Colvin is a Lecturer in Sustainable Ruminant Production Systems at the University of New England specialising in small ruminant health, epidemiology and One Health research. Her recent work includes contributing to mobile‑enabled data systems for the ACIAR Goat Production Systems and Marketing project in Lao PDR and Vietnam, with responsibilities in CommCare app development, data coordination and statistical analysis.
She holds a PhD on intensive rotational grazing for the control of gastrointestinal nematodes in sheep and has led national epidemiological studies funded by Australian Wool Innovation. Her research portfolio spans livestock health, producer behaviour and integrated disease management within a One Health framework.
Dr Colvin works in a teaching‑focused role, coordinates first‑year agriculture units and contributes to curriculum design, assessment and undergraduate learning as well as mentoring emerging researchers undertaking higher degree research.
Her expertise includes ruminant parasitology, disease epidemiology, large‑scale dataset management, survey design, digital data‑collection tools, statistical analysis and scientific communication.
